PIANO TEACHER – Maternity Leave Cover

Commence from Term 2 to Term 3, 2022 with the opportunity to continue teaching in a jobsharing role with original teacher available in term 4 2022.
Hours: Monday to Friday afternoons 5 days available,
One teacher can work all 5 afternoons or two teachers can share the week.
An opportunity has arisen for a teacher to step into an established teaching role. This maternity leave position is for term 2 and 3, 2022 with the option to continue teaching in a job share role with the original teacher in term 4 onwards.
The days required are for 5 days, Monday to Friday afternoons from 3:30pm and can be taken by two teachers or, one teacher can teach all days if suitable. The teacher must be competent in teaching all piano grade levels from 1 to 8 in piano and have some experience at higher grade level teaching.
The role includes preparing students for examinations, quarterly recitals and annual concerts, report writing, parent and school communications and some online teaching may be needed from time to time. The teacher must have a track record of teaching from grade 1 to grade 8 and have some experience and performance level.
Experience and skills
The candidate will be a good communicator and have a fun, vibrant personality. The ability to build rapport with students and communicate to parents is needed to service this established client base. A minimum of 8th Grade AMEB classical piano or equivalent, is essential. Candidates must also have a proven background in teaching AMEB theory and practical components of the piano or equivalent federal examinations. Experience in performance is an advantage, but not essential.
This position would suit a teacher wanting additional hours to supplement their working week or a parent returning to work. Applicants must have a current Working with Children Check number and pass clearance before teaching begins.
